Schoeps CCM 21

The Schoeps CCM 21 has a directional pattern between omnidirectional and cardioid. The design combines the advantages of both: fuller and more extended low-frequency response than a cardioid (with less proximity effect), while attenuating side- and rear-incident sound less than a cardioid.

The polar pattern is only slightly dependent on frequency, producing a "warm" and natural sonic impression. The CCM 21's orientation is less critical than a cardioid since direct on-axis sound and off-axis reverberation are both reproduced accurately.
