Schoeps MK 8

The Schoeps MK 8 is a lateral (figure-8) microphone capsule from the Colette modular series. Its bidirectional pattern makes it the essential side capsule for Mid-Side (MS) stereo recording, paired with a forward-facing cardioid or omni.

The MK 8 is also valuable as a primary mic for capturing instruments where strong rejection from above and below is needed, and for Blumlein stereo techniques.

Pairs with any Colette series preamp such as the CMC 1 U, CMC 6 U, or CMD 42.
