The NTH-100 is RØDE's answer to the long-standing studio reference headphone, and it makes a specific argument: comfort over long sessions without giving up accuracy. The Alcantara-covered memory foam cushions incorporate a cooling gel layer, which is not a gimmick when you are wearing headphones through a full day of post or a long location shoot.
Tuning is deliberately neutral. The 40 mm drivers use an aluminium alloy voice coil and a three-layer Mylar diaphragm, and the result is a headphone that reproduces a mix as it is rather than adding a flattering low end. At 32 Ω it drives easily from a camera output, a field recorder, or a laptop.
