The HD 25 earns its place in a sound bag through three things: it is light, it isolates, and it survives. At 140 g it disappears on the head over a twelve-hour day, and the split headband keeps it planted when you are moving. The rotating right capsule flips away for single-ear monitoring — the reason boom operators and ENG crews reach for it over anything else.
Every part is user-replaceable. Cable, earpads, headband, capsules: all serviceable without sending the headphone away. For a rental house or a working crew, that is the whole argument.
